Yay for Jens!

Tomorrow night Jens Lekman will grace the stage at the Mothlight. Hailing from Gothenburg, Sweden, he's made room on his tour for some very lucky US cities, including Asheville. He's a global indie pop prince with both critical success and an adoring fanbase all over the world. His music is influenced by artists like Stephin Merritt, Jonathan Richman and Belle & Sebastian. His songs are characterized by bright, charming samples blended perfectly with clever lyrics.

His newest release Life Will See You Now reflects his growth as an artist perfectly and we can't wait to hear him perform some of his new work live. The album has a sunny and fresh feeling that reflects his worldly mix of influences but it still maintains that same old Jens sense of humor that made us fall in love with him in the first place.

Joining Jens on tour is Indiana born singer-songwriter Peter Oren. His most recent album Anthropocene showcases his low, deep vocals and simple but impactful guitar style. His rich sound is unique but feels comforting and familiar. The juxtaposition of Oren's more focused and serious performance and Lekman's more freeform and cheerful sound will make for a supremely well rounded experience.
