Hot Tuna will MELT YOUR FACE

Hot Tuna will MELT YOUR FACE image

Since their formation during a hiatus in Jefferson Airplane’s touring schedule in the late 60s, Hot Tuna has represented the definitive American blues band. The group’s leading men, Jack Casady and Jorma Kaukonen (both original members), may not play the Jefferson Airplane tunes that vaulted them to the forefront of American rock in the 60s and 70s. However, you will find two masters of their craft with a story to tell.

Expect Tuesday night’s acoustic set at The Orange Peel to be a departure from the bluesy electric rock that earned Hot Tuna notoriety early in their careers. Come ready for a heavy dose of good old fashion American roots and blues played by two men who were pivotal members of our greatest musical generation. An opportunity to see Jack and Jorma, two artists with such a rich history and repertoire, should not be overlooked considering these two men came up with the likes of Garcia, Clapton and Hendrix leading up to the Summer of Love.

So, if you’re in for a trip down memory lane (fingers crossed we hear a few Jefferson Airplane covers) or just want a chance to see a couple legends, check out Hot Tuna at The Orange Peel this Tuesday night.
