Four years after meeting in Peru and writing what would later become their first single, Colorado singer-songwriter Dani Cichon and New Zealand musician Nick Stone officially joined in Nashville in March 2017 as the duo South for Winter. The two soon met and formed a trio with Michigan cellist Alex Stradal, crafted South for Winter’s distinctive fusion of folk, jazz, and blues, and released their debut EP in January 2018. After its release the trio was nominated by Nashville’s Lightning 100 radio station as a top 32 up-and-coming artist in its 2018 Music City Mayhem competition and introduced to the grammy-nominated producer of their second EP, How the Mountain. They released this EP in August 2018 before starting their first national tour in August-October 2018 through over fourteen states.

The Traveling Ones

7:00PM

From the moment Justin and Emily met at an open mic in Austin, TX, they knew they had a special connection. What started as a romantic relationship quickly blossomed into a music career that the two dove into hand-in-hand. When on stage it’s hard to deny the chemistry that Emily and Justin share. They released their debut album, Meet Me There, in February of 2017 now call Nashville home. They are currently working on their sophomore album, due to release 2019. With shared influences that span decades and genres (Aretha Franklin, Norah Jones, The Black Crowes, The Beatles) the duo’s music is more about heart than labels or boundaries. Even so, it exhibits a consistently laid-back pattern of soulful blues-rock. “Like the sentimental ballads from Jason Isbell and Ryan Adams, the Traveling One’s style of Americana is rich in harmony and full of character,” wrote Tour Worthy of the couple’s unique, earthy sound.
