Asheville Mish-Mash Bash! Featuring: Kyle Corbett, Stephen Evans and The True Grits, Carly Taich, Daydream Creatures, Shrub Hugger

Emerging in the late aughts from New York City clubs and recording studios, Kyle Corbett has performed in some of the most hallowed music halls throughout North America and Europe. Typically difficult to categorize, his Prog leanings blend influences as varied as Rock, Ambient, Indian Classical, Jazz and Metal. Add his plaintive voice and a tuning that’s like a detuned cello/guitar and you’ll have an idea of what to expect. Adrian Belew (David Bowie, King Crimson) has recorded his music. Steve Hogarth (Marillion) has performed his music live. Accompanied or solo, Kyle will capture your attention. The jammed highways of Atlanta drove him to the beautiful mountain town of Asheville, NC in 1996, where he quickly began soaking in the creative influence of his amazing surroundings. After many years of vacillating between being a professional musician and being building a nest in Asheville, Stephen has focused on his love for creating and performing music.
Stephen’s strong melodic songwriting style is a blend of creative imagery of darkness and hopeful optimism. There is no denying the passion that shines through with his powerful vocals and lyrics. Songs like ‘The Garden’, ‘Cherokee Hills’, ‘1000 Roses’ and ‘Shining Star’ are beacons of his folk rock songcraft. With some local radio play on WNCW 88.7 and 98.1 The River, and upcoming shows with the True Grits as well as solo shows spreading around the Southeast, be sure to check out what Stephen Evans wants to share with you. Branded as fearless folk-pop Carly Taich's stories are raw and honest with a laissez-faire edge. She is based in Asheville, NC where she released her debut LP "Reverie" in October 2017. Between its chilling harmonies and larger than life string sections, "Reverie" can be described as a swooning, 10-song daydream. The Daydream Creatures are a five-piece band from Asheville, NC that blends beautiful three part vocal harmony with rock and roll. Poet-come-bassist/singer Robert DuRivage, originally from Detroit, has opened for Mojo Nixon and Bloodloss. He also performed at the Northeast Music Conference in Toronto, Canada. More recently he formed and led “The Bob Band” in Asheville.

Guitarist/lyricist/singer Craig Comeau began playing music in Boston with his art punk band “Snack World.”

He later formed “The Lords of Chicken Hill” in Asheville and was dubbed “art punk guru” by local weekly Mountain Xpress.
Drummer/singer Chris Zweifel, a New Orleans native, has performed with “Hometown,” “The Shit Canners,” and “Kim Basinger’s Great Wide Open.” After relocating to Asheville, he was a member of “Mister Hurl,“ “The Gin Fits,” “Smoke Break,” and “The Lords of Chicken Hill.”
